Travelling with your Pet

Travelling with a pet can be a little noisy and stressful sometimes. One of the most important things is to have them in a safe, secure spot when travelling, such as a kennel, or a gated off section of the vehicle.

Here are some great travel tips:

  • Have all vaccinations up to date, especially when crossing borders into other countries.  Have the paper work with you. Important medical history, vaccine certificates, and it is not a bad idea to have all if this in a file with your pets picture.
  • Remember to bring food and water for the trip, and also any medication your pet requires.  Do not forget the dishes the pet needs to eat from.
  • Bring a leash, toys, poop bags, grooming supplies, kitty litter, treats, and cleaning supplies in case a hotel accident happens.Talk to your veterinarian about making a good emergency kit in case something goes wrong.
  • Relax, and take frequent stops if necessary.

Plane travel with pets can be very complicated and depends on the country you want to enter, as well as the airline. Plan at least 10 months in advance for oversea trips. These kind of trips with pets are possible, but require a lot of planning.
